URITHI HOUSING AWARDS STAFF OF THE YEAR
Hard and smart working staff that keep most organizations running making them top in their business and reap profits are most often not recognized and appreciated. This however is not the case at Urithi Housing Co-operative Society, a real estate organization with over 300 young and vibrant employees.
During a title issuance ceremony held recently, more than 400 title deeds were issued to elated owners who were empowered to develop their parcels of land and who also secured inheritance for their families. Among the list of the overjoyed members was Benard Kimutai, a dedicated staff who has worked with Urithi Housing for over five years. Unknown to him, the Society’s Chairman, Mr. Samuel Maina, has observed with keen interest his passion and commitment with which he works with staff and serves members to satisfaction.
Benard Kimutai was awarded as the employee of the year with a ¼ of a land of ParkView 1 project situated in Nakuru. “I would like to thank the Chairman for his kind gesture and for the thought to award me with such a valuable gift.’’ Said the overwhelmed Kimutai. “This is a great honour which I don’t take for granted, and I feel more than motivated to continue serving our esteemed members.’’ He added. Kimutai plans to develop the parcel soon so as to add value to the land and give his family shelter at the Prime location.
“Kimutai is one of those employees who are committed and loyal to the Society’s members, and goes beyond to ensure that members are well served and satisfied. He transfers his energy and passion to all those around him and is courageous enough to escalate members’ concerns and feedback to the Board and management for clarity and action.” Said Mr. Maina.
According to his colleagues, Kimutai, who is a Projects Officer in the Projects Land Department does not shy away from helping and sharing knowledge in regards to land matters and progress. They praised him for his team spirit and passion with which he executes his duties to completion. The employees also described the Board of the Society as a team that comprise of great mentors and leaders who are always available to offer advice, solutions and lead by example.
Benard urged all employees to continue working hard and as a team, maintain loyalty and be key contributors to help steer the organization to achieve its goals. He also thanked his colleagues for the team work and support, and believes that their time to get rewarded is coming.
