BIRMINGHAM WOODLANDS is a project proposed to offer controlled housing and settlement solutions to buyers looking to reside in a serene, suburban environment away from the hustle and bustle of modern city life.
BIRMINGHAM WOODLANDS serves as a major anchor to a wider concept dubbed Birmingham City that proposes among others; a 300 acre golf course complete with a 5 Star hotel, an airstrip among other exciting upcoming concepts.
The name Birmingham is derived from the British name accorded Thika town during the colonial era in its development as Kenya’s largest industrial hub. The project envisions the genesis of a new Thika.
It offers seclusion from the concrete jungles that today define the two major towns of Nairobi and Thika while retaining close proximity to these well-established centers of commerce and trade.
Birmingham Woodlands is located in Mang’u, Thika just off the Thika Superhighway on Exit 16. It lies just 3.8 KM from the superhighway along the Bob Harris road in a plush, green area that is fast developing. The first phase of the project as proposed will sit on 100 acres of a bigger chunk of approximately 200 acres. The rest of the property is master planned to premise the second phase of the project that will mostly comprise a stylish, modern & affordable residential housing scheme.
PHASE 1: THE CONCEPT
Phase one of the project is designed to house a mixed concept of commercial & residential plots for sale as well as three housing concepts. The residential plots are proposed as controlled development land units that provide design regulations to the type of houses that owners may develop in order to retain the overall vision of the project and avoid devaluation of the Birmingham dream. As such, the plots are set out in a low density format mostly comprising ¼ acre and ⅛ acre plots arranged in several courts to provide buyers and eventual settlers with desired exclusivity and a well-planned residential lifestyle.
As such, each court has a set number of units whose prices are dictated by the location of the court within the master plan. The bias in pricing is dictated by the topographical layout of the land complemented by the views enjoyed by each section.
